“We have stayed in holiday cottages for over 40 years and this is one of the best we have stayed in, in terms of accommodation and location.”

The photographs, descriptions and reviews were an accurate representation of the Wynd. Our mixed generation party thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. The above 4 lines are the review which I would be happy to be published. In terms of helpful comments for the owner I would say that the shower in the upstairs en suite did not work from day one. Once notified this was quickly dealt with but why was this not noticed before our holiday began? The top mattress of the bunk beds needed to be flipped ...

The top mattress of the bunk beds needed to be flipped over as a protruding spring made it uncomfortable to lie on .Again this was a minor inconvenience but could have been spotted earlier. Based on experience, if one of the double bedrooms was a twin room or had a zipped double mattress it would provide more flexible sleeping arrangements where parties include teenagers or young adults as the bunk beds cater better for younger children. I hope that these comments are useful. Thank you David.

About the location

BAMBURGH

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
